Privacy policy

Strideaway plans running loops and records runs on your phone. It has no account, no ads and no analytics, and Tallekene OÜ does not receive your runs, your location or anything else you create in the app.

What stays on your phone

• Your precise location, used to start loops where you are, to guide you and to record runs you start.
• Recorded runs (GPS track, time, distance, pace), saved loops, saved start points and settings.
• Downloaded map and path data for the areas you choose.

This data is stored in the app's private storage. You can delete all of it in Settings › Delete all data, or by uninstalling the app. It only leaves your phone when you export a GPX file and choose where to send it.

Network requests the app makes

To show maps, build loops and show the weather, the app downloads public data for the area you plan in:

These requests contain no identifier, account or device ID. Our proxy keeps the weather responses in a short-lived cache keyed by the rounded location and writes no access log of its own; the web server in front of it may briefly keep standard logs (IP address, time, request) for security and operations, which are not used to identify or track you. The third-party services handle requests under their own policies: OpenFreeMap, MET Norway.

Purchases

Strideaway Pro is bought through Google Play and handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. The app only asks Google Play on your phone whether Pro is owned, and sends nothing about it to us. Google shares order information with us (such as the order number, product, price and country) for accounting and tax; we never receive your payment details.

Permissions

• Location (while using the app): to start loops where you are and to guide and record your runs.
• Foreground service and notifications: while a run you started is being recorded, Android shows a notification and keeps recording with the screen off. Recording stops when you finish the run. The app never asks for background location.

Children

Strideaway is not directed at children under 13.

Legal basis and your rights

Because Tallekene OÜ does not collect personal data through the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side beyond the short-lived server logs described above. Under the GDPR you may still contact us with any request or question, and you may complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (aki.ee).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
